Jean-Roux Heyns
Managing Director

Jean-Roux has been in renewable energy from 2012. Originally head hunted by SchletterGmbh as program manager (senior project manager), to install 7 IPP projects for clients Siemens, Juwi Renewable, and Solaire Direct. He oversaw design elements (structural, technical, and operational), contractual negotiation, implementation, execution, and installation of 146 MW as part of Round 1 and Round 2 of the REIPPP (Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Program). He saw to the successful closeout, prior to moving on to a local South African EPC – RenEnergy (Engineering, Procurement and Construction Company). Originally Jean-Roux joined the team in a business development role and was subsequently promoted to Chief Operations Officer. He spent 5 years developing commercial and agricultural projects Solar PV projects including negotiating with utilities, and during his time, was directly instrumental in growing their annual revenue 22-fold, from his initial year with the team.

Thereafter, Jean-Roux established Resurgence Technologies (Pty) Ltd (hereafter Resurge) with his two fellow directors, to service the residential, commercial, and agricultural industries with Solar PV and energy storage solutions. The partners understood that the rapidly changing South African energy requirements driven by cost and availability were changing fast and that energy storage systems were becoming increasingly important for energy independence. Having assessed trends, the directors understood early, that the residential industry was promoting premium energy storage solutions to overcome the load-shedding challenges faster than industry. The directors, therefore, focused all attention on research and development on premium energy solutions, to overcome the energy challenges and the crisis facing South Africa’s energy industry.

Subsequently, Resurge is now able to offer turnkey Solar PV and energy storage solutions to commercial and agricultural clientele, where energy independence is becoming increasingly more important to successful business operations. Traditionally, business and farming, have utilised generators, but this equipment is becoming far less feasible when competing with the combination of Solar PV/Energy Storage or Solar PV/Energy Storage and Genset combinations.

Jacques Malan
Technical Director

Jacques has more than 21 years of experience in various electricaland technical fields. Besides having his red seal, he is a registered electrician.

He has accumulated a wealth of experience in energy consumptive equipment including but not limited to; industrial refrigeration andair-conditioning, industrial machine trouble shooting and machine repair, electrical programming, and automation.

His forte is in meticulously carrying out projects ensures performance as per design. His attention to detail on each and every project ensures that we not only meet but exceed client’s requirements and expectations

Jacques has an absolute love and passion for anything technical and is hands on and oversees the implementation of each and everySolar PV and energy storage project/solutions to ensure flawless outcomes. His commitment to detail is unparalleled.

For the last few years, his focus has been completely in Solar PV plants and energy storage research and development and implementation of a wide range of solutions to ensure safe and reliable implementation and operations of Resurgence Technologies range of offerings. He heads up the technical division and oversees all installations and the teams fulfilling the installations.

Raphael De La Harpe
Non Executive Director

Raphael is a non-practising attorney of the High Court of South Africa and non-practising solicitor of the Superior Courts of England and Wales and has over 15 years post-articles experience in corporate, tax and renewable energy gained in private practice and in various in-house and consulting roles.

Since 2008, he has been extensively involved in the renewable energy market in South Africa and has advised both, financiers, asset managers, local and international solar and wind developers, and EPC Contractors, which includes but is not limited to Mainstream Renewable Power South Africa, Ventusa Energy, REISA and JuwiRenewable Energies (Pty) Ltd.

Rushdie Largardien
Non Executive Director

Rushdie is a non-practicing attorney of the High Court of South Africa with more than 20 years post articles experience in Corporate Commercial Law, Dispute Resolution, Contract Negotiation and Drafting, Employment Law, Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment, Corporate Governance gained through practice and as the Legal and Commercial Director of a private Group of Companies, operating in a diverse range of sectors.

Rushdie has advised local municipalities, parastatals and both national and international corporates including BP, PetroSA, Mars Inc, Amdec Investments, and is highly skilled in corporate structuring, contract negotiation, legal and risk analysis

 

 

Mzomle Tshaka
Non Executive Director

Mzo is a non-practising admitted attorney who holds a BSocSc and LLB degree, both from UCT. He is in the process of completing his LLM in Commercial Law. Mzo was admitted as an attorney in February 2005 and has since practiced as a commercial attorney and partner for a number of law firms

He was also the Legal Coordinator and Property Manager for Chevron, where he was responsible for Africa, Middle East and Pakistan.

He has gained extensive expertise in the fields of general corporate commercial practice, contract drafting and negotiation, property law, petroleum law, BBBEE and corporate governance.His clients include property developers, banks, various trusts, IT companies, actuarial companies, and other large and small and medium corporate entities. He was responsible for drafting the MOI for Cape Chamber of Commerce, Black Business Council and the Black Management Forum.

Michelle Heyns
Head of Administration and Internal Sales

Michelle has a wealth of experience in customer service and sales. She has a track record of 18 years in retail sales and management and a further 7 years in management in training development.

Michelle has held numerous awards for her attention to client’s needs. Her love of people is what makes her a significant asset to the Resurgence Team. She is always going the extra mile to ensure that each and every clients experience is a great one.

Busisa Njomana
Electrial Project Manager

Busisa is a qualified red seal electrician and has furthered her studies by achieving her higher certificate in Renewables Energy Technology.

Her positive attitude and ability to adapt makes her an instrumental part of the Resurgence team. She assists in design, installation, and commissioning of the various solutions that the Resurgence team offers.

She is a young, ambitious designer and junior project manager and we are proud to have this dynamic woman paving new ways in this energy sector.
